Online, at our office, or the location will be provided

Service Description

Healing from trauma isn’t just emotional, it’s also educational. When we understand what trauma does to the brain, body, and spirit, we reclaim something essential: Clarity. Language. Understanding. & Power. Our Trauma Education classes are designed for survivors of sexual assault and the people who love them. Whether you’re walking your own healing path or supporting someone else on theirs, this space offers knowledge that can validate, empower, and transform. Monthly Trauma Education Classes What to Expect: - Held once a month (virtually or in-person) - Each class is facilitated by a certified trauma therapist, counselor, or survivor-expert. - Topics rotate monthly and are relevant, real, and survivor-centered. - Sessions are accessible, welcoming, and affirming. No prior experience needed to attend. Past and Upcoming Topics Include: - What is trauma? How it impacts the brain, body, and identity. - Understanding PTSD, complex trauma, and the survivor's nervous system. - Grounding, regulation, and self-soothing techniques. - Shame, grief, and memory after sexual violence. - The biology of triggers and dissociation, and how to navigate them. - Trauma-informed communication for survivors and their support systems. - Healing timelines, setbacks, and how to hold space for yourself (or others). - Navigating relationships, boundaries, and trust after trauma. All participants receive free digital PDF workbooks and worksheets designed by survivors, for survivors. These tools include: - Self-reflection prompts and journaling guides. - Nervous system mapping tools. - Body autonomy and boundary worksheets. - Survivor-centric affirmations and emotional safety plans. - Practice sheets for loved ones learning how to support without overstepping. - Everything is written in accessible, gentle language. No clinical jargon, no shame, no pressure to “do the work” perfectly. - Videos will be posted to the blog. Who Are These Classes For? - Survivors of sexual assault at any stage of their healing journey. - Partners, friends, family members, and allies of survivors. - Professionals or volunteers seeking a survivor-led understanding of trauma. - Anyone curious about trauma, healing, and personal empowerment. Why It Matters? Understanding trauma gives us back our power. The power to name what happened, to understand what’s happening inside us, and to build lives that reflect who we are after the trauma. Education that says: You are not alone, and you are not broken.
